We are looking for a full time, term time Science Technician to join our large Science department at Elthorne Park and the knowledge, skills and qualities required are as follows:
*Good organisational skills and ability to set up and follow administrative procedures and systems.
*Ability to communicate effectively with both staff and students, work independently without close supervision and organise and manage resources
*Be able to construct and develop equipment and apparatus (involving modification / manufacturing) for teaching purposes.
*Have the ability to carry out basic repairs to equipment, make up routine chemical solutions and understand chemical formulae.
*Have the ability to handle chemicals, materials and apparatus with due regard to safety.
*Have good attendance and health record.
Education and Experience
*Have a sound educational background with good literacy and numeracy skills.
*Have Science qualifications in all disciplines to at least GCSE or equivalent.
*Either have or be willing to be trained in a First Aid qualification
*Be competent in the use of ICT
