Thank you for considering West Acton Primary School for the next step in your career. West Acton Primary School is a multicultural, diverse three form entry primary school with an Additionally Resourced Provision for children with ASD/Social Communication Difficulties.

We have dynamic, committed teachers who are passionate about improving the education of children at our school.

This year we are looking someone to join our new Reception team, in the first instance for 1 year. You may be ready to start on 1st September or after October half term. This is an exciting time to join our school and work on the new EYFS framework, Tapestry and Little Wandle Revised Letters and Sounds phonics. The candidate should have a good understanding of the new expectations and have previously taught in a Reception class.

UPS teachers must be able to fulfil the school’s policy of being role model practitioners and making a sustained and substantial contribution to the school. Currently our UPS teachers lead a subject, an ongoing project or a whole school development area. If you are a UPS teacher
please include separate information about this in your application statement. This is NOT suitable for ECTs.

The successful candidate will be someone who:

•   Welcomes feedback and has the ability to become an outstanding classroom practitioner
•  Has taught in a Reception class
•  Has up to date knowledge of Government and Ofsted requirements
•  Has high expectations and aspirations for all children’s achievement and behaviour
•  Has strong phonics knowledge ( especially Letters & Sounds
•  Values inclusion and has an interest in developing the whole child
•  Has a clear commitment to whole school improvement with excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills to engage the wider community
•  Is able to plan and deliver all areas of the EYFS curriculum with learners of a range of abilities and starting points
