Job description

Required for January 2025 or later start, permanent contract.

We are looking to appoint a primary PE teacher to lead and teach PE, sport and games. Start date is flexible, January 2025 is preferred but you could be contractually tied until April 2025 or prefer a September 2025 start.

Our specialist PE teacher takes classes while their teachers have planning, preparation and assessment time. You will teach every class in the school from Reception to year 6 each week, coach sports teams to represent the school in competitions and offer a range of after-school sports clubs. You will work closely with, and manage the work of, a PE instructor.

PE specialists who want to focus on teaching their love of PE, sport and games in a primary school rather than teaching a class and the whole primary curriculum are especially encouraged to apply. This vacancy is not suitable as a first post for early career teachers.

About the school

Our four-form entry school is vibrant with pupils who care about health, sport and competitive games:
*Conscientious pupils who are keen to learn and take part in PE lessons;
*Pupils who want to take part in local sports competitions, including disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs;
*Sports squads and recreational sports clubs before and after school.
