The Alec Reed Academy is an Ofsted ‘Good’ school and an exciting place to work. In July 2018 it received praise from Ofsted who described it as ‘at the heart of its community, an inclusive school with leadership providing excellent role models and maintaining the good quality of education since the last inspection in 2015’.

We seek to expand our current team of qualified and experienced HLTA’s with the addition of a new HLTA role to focus on Sensory & Physical Needs. Our current team successfully manage ‘Cognition & Learning’, ‘Communication & Interaction’ and ‘Social, Emotional and Mental Health’. This vacancy provides an excellent opportunity for someone to work in a high quality and well-resourced environment and to join a team of experienced, successful and highly motivated teaching assistants.

Applicants must hold the HLTA qualification, GCSE Grade C or above / Functional Skills Level 2 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent), and be experienced in leading or supervising a team. It is also essential that applicants have experience in Sensory & Physical Needs.

The hours of work are 36 hours per week on a term-time only basis, plus Professional Development days. The general hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4pm (with one CPD session per week until 5pm). These are important roles to start as soon as possible however we are willing to wait for the right candidate.
