North Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupil wellbeing.
This is an exciting challenge for a committed teaching assistant with some previous experience or knowledge of gardening, to come and work within a dedicated and experienced staff. The children at North have a love of gardening, they are looking for a gardening enthusiast who will help them to grow seeds, pot them on, plant them out and generally help them to make our school environment lovely. They like to grow flowers and edibles. You will manage our garden area and the planning pockets around the school with the children at lunchtimes and in gardening club. No qualification in gardening is required, just enthusiasm.
Our pupils with additional needs also love the garden, you will work with the children to support their learning about the natural world.
You will also listen to children’s worries. Children seek the opportunity to talk using our listening post, if appropriate you would then contact our DSL or KS lead as appropriate if further action is required. We find that having someone to talk to is an essential aspect of our relationships policy. You will also be trained in Drawing and Talking, you will have a small group of children to work with each week that require emotional support.
