About the school

Castlebar is an ‘Outstanding’ Special School for primary aged children. We are very proud of our achievements, but more than anything we are very proud of the children we are privileged to work with.

Due to expansion, we are seeking a dynamic, committed teacher who is passionate about education to join our school, working with young children who have a range of learning difficulties including complex needs, Autism and Global Delay. We offer a warm and welcoming environment with a fantastic and supportive team and excellent opportunities for professional development.

About you

Teachers with specific interests in special schools are welcome to apply.

Essential Qualities include:

  • *Thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum and its implications for children with complex learning difficulties
  • *Experience of working with pupils with additional needs
  • *Imagination, creativity and a highly developed sense of responsibility
  • *Positive outlook and a good sense of humour.
