Trust AV and Events Manager

Grade 10 scale points 31 – 34 (£43,440 – £46,653) – Starting salary is £43,440pa all inclusive, 35 hours per week all year round

We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and proactive AV and Events Manager to support and oversee the audio-visual (AV) needs across our four schools in West London. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise in AV systems, be a natural problem-solver, and possess the ability to coordinate with internal teams and third-party contractors to deliver exceptional concerts, events, and productions. This is a dynamic role requiring both technical proficiency and the ability to manage and execute large-scale events and productions, with a high level of technical knowledge and outstanding team working skills.

You will be part of the Technical Services Team, that delivers an IT and AV service to the four schools of the Twyford Church of England Trust – Twyford CE High School (Acton), William Perkin CE High School (Greenford), Ada Lovelace CE High School (Ealing) and Ealing Fields High School (Ealing).

The working week is 35 hours.  Core hours of work are 7:30am – 3:30pm with a one-hour break, plus time off in lieu for evening events, lettings and weekend working as required, with accumulated hours taken off during school holidays.  Hours of work as arranged with the Director of Technical Services.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on AV Manager technical experience, ideally within a school, education, or live event environment.
  • Proven experience in managing medium to large-scale events, including concerts, productions, and live shows.
  • Strong knowledge of AV equipment (sound systems, lighting, projection, video, etc.), including setup, troubleshooting, and operation.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with AV software and hardware, including digital audio consoles (Midas), lighting control systems (Zero 88, ETC Ion and AVOLITES), projectors, and video editing software.
  • Experience with signal routing, live mixing, and media streaming for events.
  • Strong understanding of AV system integration and troubleshooting techniques.

 

Project Management:

  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on meeting deadlines and managing resources.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external vendors/contractors.

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and lead when required.
  • Highly organised and proactive, with a forward-thinking approach to AV needs and event coordination.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support events as needed.

 

Desirable:

  • A relevant AV qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, AVIXA, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
