Do you have time to spare in the middle of the day?

Are you looking for a new challenge supporting children?

We are looking to recruit a playworker for the Fielding  ARP (Additional Resourced Provision). Fielding is a fantastic place to work. Imagine working in a school where everybody chooses to bring energy, passion and a positive attitude to the job every day.

Does that sound like you?

You might be just the person we are looking for!

Lunchtimes are a busy but important part of the school day. We are looking to increase the number of staff available during this time to make the dining and play experience even better for our pupils. Our pupils in the ARP all have social communication difficulties and so eating in the busy lunch hall can be too overwhelming for them.

Our purpose-built ARP opened in January 2023 and has steadily grown to three classes. It is a busy and vibrant provision for 27 pupils who have a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum condition. Staff in the ARP provide tailored support to meet the individual needs as stated in pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic playworker with experience in this field, or in a similar setting, to work across the lunchtime period to support pupils’ interactions while they are eating and during outside structured play.  The successful applicant would join our ARP team which consists of 3 teachers and 6 teaching assistants.

As a playworker you should be committed to providing an exceptional, safe and fun lunch and play experience for the children in our care.  This position is routine and play-focused and we will be looking for candidates to demonstrate a strong understanding of how pupils with additional needs can socialise and interact with one another.
