Senior Statutory Manager (Fixed-Term 24 -Month Contract)

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Statutory Manager who:

  • Possesses the capability to manage and support Youth Justice Service Officers overseeing a range of Post-Court Orders, ensuring high standards of performance through rigorous quality assurance of assessments and reports, and promoting exemplary practices.
  • Promotes and adheres to Child First Principles ensuring collaboration with children is central to all of the team’s work
  • Can competently manage all aspects of Court work
  • Is adept at risk management and able to enable others to produce accurate and appropriate risk and safeguarding assessments and ensuring these inform the delivery of personalised and impactful interventions.
  • Ensures a seamless collaborative approach between the Youth Justice Service and the Courts, maintaining excellence in joint working practices.
  • Assists in significantly reducing offending and re-offending rates among young people through strategic partnerships with other agencies, thereby achieving national objectives.
  • Is devoted to minimizing the use of custodial remands and sentences for young people, especially those from groups that are disproportionately over-represented, by providing robust alternative bail and intervention packages.
  • Will proficiently coordinate the delivery of bail supervision and remand management services for young people subjected to police and court remand decisions, including appropriate adult, bail supervision, remand to local authority accommodation, and secure accommodation.
  • Supervises Youth Justice Service Officers with expertise, aiding them in reflective practice, risk management, and achieving positive performance against agreed targets.
  • Effectively monitors individual and team performance, collecting and validating data to assess performance against local and national standards.

Essential Qualification:

A professional qualification relevant to one of the partner agencies (social services, police, education, youth, probation or health services), for example a Diploma in Social Work, Diploma in Probation Studies, Diploma in Youth and Community Studies or Certificate of Education or substantial in-service training with evidence of validated learning and achievement.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role.  This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016
