Job description

Ealing Council is committed to creating good jobs and delivering on its connected communities’ agenda. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive.

We are looking for someone knowledgeable and motivated to lead our pensions team as Pensions Manager.  The post is full time (35 hours per week) and is based at Perceval House, with the opportunity for some hybrid working.

As Pensions Manager you will develop our pensions team to maintain the excellent service that is provided to our wide portfolio of customers and service partners.

Your substantial knowledge of the Local Government and Teachers’ Pension Schemes will quickly establish credibility as a subject expert on pensions for the Council providing advice and guidance on complex and technically demanding pensions matters.

A key element of the position will involve managing the well-established relationships between the team and its customers.

You will lead the monitoring of our outsourced pensions administration service provided by Local pensions partnership (LPP) as well as maintaining and developing the scrutiny and accountability we hold them to.

Your strong communication skills will support both the effective dissemination of guidance and when coupled with your pensions expertise, will assist the formulation of relevant policy.

Please read the role profile for this position which sets out more details of the expectations for this position.

We would be delighted to receive your application and ask that you ensure that you respond to the criteria set out on the person specification when completing your supporting statement.

Ealing Council recognises and values the diversity of all people and communities in the borough and in our staff.

True equality is more than simply identifying the different communities that are represented in Ealing. It is about ensuring we understand the needs of our staff and residents from a range of diverse backgrounds and that we continually strive to operate inclusive practices.

This role is subject to Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.
