Job description

Starting salary will be £37,443 pa inclusive

We are looking for talented Housing Officers who will embrace new ways of working, delivering services as part of a team responsible for providing a highly professional customer focused Housing management service through estate-based hubs, residents’ homes, and hybrid working.

Ealing Council’s Resident Services is responsible for managing the council’s housing stock where staff provide a generic holistic housing service to residents; tailoring that service to meet the individual needs of the customer and the changing ways in which our residents want to access our housing services.

Working as part of a housing hub team, you will provide a high-quality visible and accessible housing management service to residents across a range of tenures finding creative and innovative ways of tackling local problems. You will be responsible for the tenancy management of a patch of properties, managing arrears and rent collection through assisting residents in maximising their income, estate inspections and resident engagement. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of providing a generic housing management service with a flexible attitude and a passion to improve the lives of residents.

This role entails being a crucial interface between residents and other council and external services, therefore, to be successful in this role you will:

  • be a strong communicator,
  • have a natural flair for problem solving,
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • be performance driven with initiative to assess complex situations and make decisions quickly and effectively,
  • be self-motivated,
  • computer literate.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
