Ealing Council have two exciting new full-time, permanent positions for a Senior Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager and a Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager. Our housing asset management team is dedicated to ensuring decent, healthy, and sustainable homes for the future of our community.
These pivotal roles work closely with each other to perform the role of leading and overseeing multiple projects and contract management, and focussing on their day to day operation.
Day to day, the Senior Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager will:
- deliver work safely and in compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and council policies by implementing safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring team adherence to safety standards.
- ensure that customer service and satisfaction targets are consistently met or exceeded by actively engaging with customers, addressing their concerns promptly, and meeting their needs throughout the project lifecycle.
- successfully deliver the annual investment programme by planning, executing, and completing projects within the allocated budget and timeframe, ensuring all investment goals are achieved.
Whilst the Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager will:
- deliver work safely and in compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and council policies by implementing safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring team adherence to safety standards.
- ensure that customer service and satisfaction targets are consistently met or exceeded by actively engaging with customers, addressing their concerns promptly, and meeting their needs throughout the project lifecycle.
- successfully deliver the annual investment programme by planning, executing, and completing projects within the allocated budget and timeframe, ensuring all investment goals are achieved.
- ensure all contract conditions are met and projects deliver value for money by managing contracts effectively, negotiating terms, and adhering to the price framework while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key skills and experience needed in these roles include:
- Experience with the Decent Homes Standard, Lettable Standards, CDM Planning/Principal Designer duties, and client duties. Knowledge of building maintenance terminology and repair activities.
- Relevant industry qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field).
- Membership or Associate status with a relevant professional body
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical services, and computerised asset management systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, construction regulations, quality control, building regulations, planning requirements, and property compliance laws (including the Building Safety Act 2022).
- Excellent project management skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and guiding, developing and mentoring others.
