Job description

Are you a motivated and experienced individual looking for a challenging and rewarding role in Licensing? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to lead our Licensing Enforcement and Compliance team in the vibrant community of Ealing, West London.

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing, leading, and developing a team of licensing officers to ensure that premises are appropriately licensed and adhere to licensing laws in areas such as the sale of alcohol, public entertainment, gambling premises, fireworks and explosives, special treatment premises, animal welfare licensing, and scrap metal dealers.

To excel in this role, you must have experience as a Licensing Compliance and Enforcement Officer, and the ideal candidate will have experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.

Your attention to detail, solution-focused approach, and dedication to providing excellent service to our businesses and residents are essential qualities we are looking for.

Located in the heart of West London, Ealing comprises seven distinct town centres – Ealing, Southall, Hanwell, Acton, Northolt, Perivale, and Greenford. Each of these areas has unique characteristics, and together they form one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in the UK.

The Licensing Compliance team, along with colleagues in the Licensing Processing team, ensure that activities and premises are appropriately licensed under various regimes. Additionally, the team carries out investigations and enforcement where licenses are breached or unlicensed activities occur.

The workload is complex and ever-changing, but for the right candidate, it provides an exciting opportunity to apply and develop your skills, and improve our services in a fast-paced, supportive work environment.

For further information or an informal chat about the role, please contact Food, Safety and Licensing Manager, Izabela Gregory, on 020 8825 7407 or via email at piterai@ealing.gov.uk.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

This post is subject to Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.
