An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Family Information Service. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Programme Manager to lead our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme. This role is crucial in providing healthy meals, enriching activities, and free childcare places to children from low-income families, benefiting their health, wellbeing, and learning.
Since 2022, the HAF programme has provided 10.7 million HAF days to children and young people across the country. The expansion of the programme year-on-year has resulted in a total of 5.4 million HAF days provided between Christmas 2022, Easter, and summer 2023. Following the successful rollout of the HAF programme across England, commencing in 2021, the government announced a further investment of over £200m for the next year 2025/2026. Ealing has been allocated over £1.3M by the Department for Education for 2025/26 to deliver free enriching holiday provision with a hot nutritious meal for school-aged children from Reception to Year 11 who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals (FSM). The borough has over 10,000 children on FSM who receive benefits-related free school meals.
In this role, you will be responsible for the overall setup, coordination, and delivery of the HAF programme in line with the Department for Education’s directives and expectations, ensuring provision is of high quality, value for money, and meets the needs of the borough’s communities. This will include delivering a comprehensive support package for delivery partners.
What are we looking for? Successful candidates will be self-motivated and decisive, able to lead, challenge, and drive new initiatives forward to maximise results and outcomes for Ealing’s children. Experience of working with recognised project management methodologies and excellent stakeholder management skills are essential.
This role is subject to enhanced vetting check.
You must have the right to work in the UK. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.
