Home-based covering Ealing and Hounslow
We are seeking a full time or part time social worker for our out of hours Emergency Duty Team; hours to be negotiated and can be flexible.
The Ealing Emergency Duty Team (EDT) requires a social worker with current approved mental health practitioner (AMHP) status to respond to urgent social care enquiries on behalf of Ealing and Hounslow boroughs.
The team (EDT) covers the work of the children’s, adults and mental health divisions of both Ealing and Hounslow social services. The EDT responds to all emergency out-of-hours social work referrals during evenings, overnight, weekends and public holidays, where emergency intervention from the Local Authority is required to safeguard vulnerable children and adults.
The team is well embedded within the Children’s Services front door function with plenty of opportunities for training and development within the service. The team benefits from the support of a manager and deputy and supportive peers both within the team and partner teams within the daytime children’s services and mental health teams.
You must have current approved mental health practitioner (AMHP) status and should have a working knowledge and understanding of legislation for vulnerable children and adults together with an ability to benefit from further training in these areas as needed. You will be practiced in implementing effective interventions both face to face and over the phone/ online. A confident practitioner with excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to think and act creatively and autonomously to achieve the best possible outcomes.
For an informal discussion, please contact Rachel Isidore, Emergency Duty Team manager on 07866 057 372 or via email: IsidoreR@ealing.gov.uk
