Ealing Council’s Corporate Health and Safety Service is looking for a seasoned professional with substantial experience to join our team.

If so, this role offers an opportunity to be involved in safety management for areas as diverse as the zoo, housing, waste management, social services, construction projects (e.g., office refurbs, oversight of regeneration and housing projects), highways, libraries and leisure centres, parks, and major events. In addition, you would work with services on procurement and contract management.
The Corporate Health and Safety team is centrally located and has oversight advisor and audit responsibilities for all council functions. It is very busy and varied, as such there will be few places where you will get such a mix of experience.
Our focus is on getting a committed professional with the right approach and attitude. You will engage with a range of stakeholders and will achieve buy in from the senior leadership team, councillors, managers, the workforce, contractors, regulators and other third parties.

About the role:
To provide a competent, pragmatic, and professional health and safety advisory and support service to Council services and to monitor compliance through audits and inspections.
Reviewing, updating, embedding, and monitoring of the Council’s health and safety management system, associated policies, and procedures.
Evaluate and update the safety management systems to meet the needs of the organisation and changing regulatory landscape.
Be at the forefront for driving positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture across the organisation via varied and innovative initiatives alongside timely intervention / interaction with the service managers.
Lead on health and safety cultural change.
Flexible working with IT supplied. Due to occasional emergency incident support, you must live within reasonable distance of the borough.
