This is an exciting opportunity to join Ealing’s Contextual Safeguarding Team as a Contextual Safeguarding Advisor.
At Ealing we are proud of our reputation for providing excellent, innovative support to children, young people and their families and it could not be a better time to join us. Following our work with the University of Bedfordshire over the last 2 years we are now looking to develop on, expand and embed our offer to those young people who may be at risk of or experiencing extrafamilial harm and our contextual safeguarding response.
We are currently seeking someone who is passionate about supporting professionals who are working with children and young people who are at risk from harm outside the home. You will have a strong knowledge of contextual safeguarding as an approach and understand the challenges that are faced by professionals working with this cohort.
With a social work qualification and highly collaborative style, you should have experience of working with complex child protection/safeguarding issues in a multi-agency setting with the ability to work both at an operational and strategic level.
You will need strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to appropriately support and challenge professionals from different agencies.
Ealing Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Ealing follows safe recruitment practices to protect children and vulnerable adults.
The post holder will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.
This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
