Job description

As a Conservation and Heritage Specialist, you will play a crucial role in preserving and enhancing the historic environment within Ealing. Your expertise will guide planning decisions, protect heritage assets, and contribute to the overall development of the borough. If you’re passionate about conservation, heritage, and community engagement then this could be the job for you.

Based in the newly established Urban Design team in the Planning, Design and Sustainability division, this is a really exciting time to join the council. Ealing’s 7 towns all have their own distinct characters that we want to celebrate and enhance and our emerging Local Plan sets a framework to ensure place making is a key priority.

There is a lot to lead on and get involve in. Earlier this year we consulted on a number of conservation area changes and a key first task for this role is to consider the consultation responses and recommend a way forward. The post will also be involved in development management, input to the emerging local plan and supporting guidance, support conservation initiatives and develop ideas for how we can celebrate our heritage and build relationships with statutory bodes, local communities and other stakeholders. For details on the role, please see the role profile.

For more information about the borough and our approach to our 7 towns, please see the attached brochure.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Jennifer Peters, Assistant Director for Planning, Design and Sustainability.

This post is subject to Ealing’s enhanced vetting process.
