Future Ealing, the council’s transformation programme, aims to help deliver outcomes for residents whilst addressing budget challenges brought about from reductions in government grants, rising demand and the effects of COVID-19. To date programmes and projects designed and delivered through the Future Ealing Programme have helped deliver transformational change whilst balancing the budget.

As a Change and Transformation Programme Manager you will form a key part of the Future Ealing Programme Management Office (PMO), a small team located in the strategy and engagement service within the chief executive’s directorate.

The Change and Transformation Programme Manager will manage the programme of substantial projects that make up the large-scale transformation of services and how outcomes are delivered in Ealing. They will also be responsible for programme delivery through robust co-ordination, reporting and risk management, in-line with best practice and corporate standards.

You will demonstrate strong programme and project management skills and flexibility to lead one of the Future Ealing change and transformation programmes in one of the following areas:

  • Children and Families
    • Children’s Savings Programme
    • SEN High Needs Savings Programme
  • Adult Services
    • Better Lives Programme
    • Reablement Project

You will have excellent communication skills and will be comfortable working with senior colleagues to turn ideas into practical projects that deliver real benefits. As a senior member of the team, you will also help support the identification and development of new proposals for change.

You will be responsible for working independently to engage internal and external stakeholders and proactively resolve issues as they emerge. You will also help to build an understanding of, and engagement with, the goals of the Future Ealing Programme.

Due to COVID-19, this is currently a remote role. The expectation is that the successful candidate will be available to attend training, workshops, team meetings etc. in the main office, Perceval House, when it is safe to do so.

This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.

The position is for a fixed period of at least 24 months. External applicants will be offered a fixed-term contract and existing Ealing council employees will be offered the opportunity of at least a 12 month secondment. LBE employees must ensure a secondment release form is signed by their line manager before applying and emailed to HRSSC-RecruitmentTeam@ealing.gov.uk by the application closing date.

To apply please complete the application form indicating how you meet all the essential knowledge, skills & abilities detailed in the person specification.
