Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Placements Officers to join our dedicated and dynamic Adults Placements Team.

The Team plays a critical role Adults Social Services Department and makes a positive contribution to the lives of vulnerable adults living in the borough. The team is responsible for the sourcing and commissioning of placements and accommodation for adults and young people. The role involves working closely with social work teams across the learning disability, physical disabilities, older persons, and mental health service areas and the external care home and supported accommodation markets.

This is a demanding role, offering variety and an opportunity to learn new skills and develop your knowledge. The successful postholder will be someone who can communicate and negotiate effectively both verbally and in writing to achieve the best outcomes for borough residents and secure best value for the Council. You will be offered regular supervision and support, access to training opportunities, and experience the benefits of working with friendly and supportive colleagues.

Applicants should note that Placements Officers work a ‘shift pattern’ between 9am to 6pm (Monday – Friday) and can be asked to work weekends should it be needed to support the social care system and peak points of demand.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
