Allenby Primary School is a welcoming, caring and multicultural school in the community.  A dedicated team of teachers and support staff have established a culture in which every pupil has the opportunity to thrive and flourish.  We are a small and vibrant one form entry school with 2 unique units for pupils with severe learning difficulties.

We have been validated by UNICEF as a Rights Respecting School (Gold Level) and this has dramatically changed our ethos and values at Allenby.  We are very proud of our Rights Respecting status and all new staff and children are inducted into our approach.

We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic person who can demonstrate an ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.  The successful applicant will:

Main Purpose of the job:

  • Under the instruction of Senior Staff and SBM, provide routine general, clerical and administrative support to the School’s Admin Team; photocopying, filing, emailing etc
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

Organisation:

  • To undertake Reception Duties, answering telephone, face to face enquiries and signing in visitors, processing orders, Routine forms ie Cool Milk, EYFS Funding Portal,
  • To manage general office filing systems for documentation, policies etc, operate office equipment/ICT software packages (Microsoft), photocopiers metering etc
  • Assist with arrangements for school trips, after school clubs, school events, professional visitors eg school nurse, photographers and specialist staff

Administration:

  • Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems (Sims, School Money)
  • Undertake typing word processing and other ICT based tasks including updating the school’s communication platform – Class Dojo
  • Undertake routine administration eg registers/school meals register/assessment databases and data entry
  • Manage all aspects of after school clubs organisation (Clubby)
  • To support the SLT with meeting arrangements including the SENCo annual review meetings
  • To have excellent English and Maths skills

Responsibilities:

  • To comply and be aware of all school policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, child protection, security,  confidentiality and GDPR
  • To adhere to the school’s Health and Safety policy including Risk Assessment and Safety Systems
  • To adhere to the School’s policy on Equality and Diversity
  • To contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school and respond effectively to changing priorities and being a duty bearer for Rights Respecting (currently Gold Level)
  • To appreciate and support the roles of other professionals, in particular the Senior Staff and SENCo
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings (as required)
  • Undertake any similar duties commensurate with the level of the post as required by the Headteacher and SBM
  • Respond effectively to changing priorities
