As a new school within a highly aspirational and academically successful multi-academy Trust, Ealing Fields High School offers comprehensive CPD, exciting development opportunities and good promotion prospects for its teachers.  The school, now in its fifth year, moved to its brand new permanent site in Northfields in September 2020.

About the school

Ealing Fields High School was opened as a Free School in 2016, and became part of the Twyford CE Academies Trust on 1st September 2017.  Ealing Fields is the smallest of the Trust schools, with only 150 in each Year Group and therefore has a very compact community identity.  The staff community is very positive, highly motivated and fully engaged in professional development.  The school moved to its brand-new permanent site in Northfields in September 2020 and achieved a Progress 8 score of +1.34 with its first set of public examinations in 2022 which reflects our relentless commitment to providing the best possible education for all students.

The Twyford Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community.  The Twyford Trust aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting, and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well.  Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the Trust is the overarching organisation which provides support for all Trust schools – the Trust comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing and is the highest performing multi-academy trust in the country.  The Trust has a highly evolved common curriculum which has been devised by staff within the 4 schools. The Trust is also the hub of a Teaching School Alliance and prides itself on the standards of peer-led CPD within a dynamic culture of self-improvement.

We offer:

  • *Exceptional professional development and career progression
  • *Positive working relationships at all levels
  • *A supportive Leadership Team
  • *A full-range of Trust services providing support and development.

About you

An Academic Mentor is required to support students in Years 7 – 11 with statements of Special Education Need, and to take the lead responsibility for students with learning and behavioural difficulties.

All applications are welcome however these roles may particularly suit graduates hoping to progress to School Direct teacher training.  The Twyford Trust is the ‘hub’ for the Ealing Teaching School Alliance and is therefore extremely experienced in supporting training and development for beginning teachers, and new and experienced teachers at all stages of their career.

Roles are up to 35 hours per week however part-time applications can be considered, particularly for three or four days per week.  Exact hours per week will be discussed and agreed at interview and the salary will therefore be a pro rata figure according to the hours worked.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • *Recent experience of working with secondary age children
  • *A sensible attitude, with the ability to be flexible, reflective and find solutions
  • *Energy and enthusiasm
  • *A commitment to the ethos of the school.
