An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Social Work Department in supporting the needs of informal Carers in the London Borough of Ealing. The role entails being the main person of contact in supporting Carers of Service Users within the mental health teams. The successful candidate will ensure that the process of identifying Cares is regularly reviewed, actively engage in completing Carer’s Assessments and Care Plans in meeting Carers’ needs. This may in some cased include attending a Funding Panel and presenting your Carer’s Assessment, in supporting Carers in their role e.g. Direct Payments.
We are looking for an exceptional individual who is able to prioritise their daily workload, who has a high standard of communicative and report writing skills and who is able to be a competent advocate for Carers, in both the statutory and voluntary sectors.
It is essential that you can demonstrate that you have undertaken some formal counselling training or equivalent and are able to use counselling skills in supporting Carers with their emotional needs, as well as their practical needs. Ideally the applicant will have lived experience in being an informal Carer and an understanding of mental health.
This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
