About Ealing

Ealing is a world class borough within a world class city. On the doorstep of Heathrow, home to the strategic regeneration area that will accommodate London’s first High Speed 2 Terminus and will soon enjoy five new Crossrail stations slashing journey times to 10 minutes from the heart of London. The borough has unrivalled connectivity and huge potential for economic growth and investment at a national scale of significance. It has numerous town centres of cultural importance and vast swathes of industrial land surrounded by award winning parks linked by the Grand Union canal network, and one of the country’s most diverse and skilled populations. It is a great place to work, live and play.

As an organisation, Ealing Council has a long established and progressive approach to flexible and agile working and is committed to providing a healthy work-life balance to all staff. We care about the job you do, not where you do it from.

Our Challenge

The economic shock and hardship on businesses and residents due to the pandemic has been felt more keenly in Ealing. The decisions we take now about how we recover and renew the borough’s economy will have an impact for decades to come. Led by the economic growth service, the council recently launched its Plan for Good Jobs, preparing a new Ealing Local Plan and developing an extensive area-based programme of regeneration and investment for the borough. All this will be underpinned by an inclusive and innovative approach to work with the community

The Area Regeneration and Economic Renewal Team is leading on enabling the recovery and sustainable growth of employment opportunities and place-based visions across the seven town areas. These include promoting the 20-minute neighbourhood approach and co-developing locally based projects with the local partners and communities at the heart. The team has successfully secured a multimillion-pound funding for the front-runner projects at Northolt, undertaking significant borough strategies and we need to get on with its delivery.

About you

If you have the skills, the passion and the drive to join an economic growth service that is forward thinking and up to the challenge of working on innovative regeneration projects, please look no further than Ealing.

Reporting to the Principal Regeneration Officer, this role will provide critical project support, focusing on delivering the borough’s economic recovery and renewal.

You will have the opportunity to work on various projects across different areas including multimillion-pound and multi-agency regeneration programmes.

You will support the team to put in place appropriate project management systems, ensuring information is up to date and can be readily retrieved.

You will be expected to work flexible hours (maximum 35 hours per week). The role will also involve some evening work for stakeholder engagement events and occasional weekends.
