Ealing Council are looking for an experienced Clerk of Works (fire safety) who likes a challenge, strives for perfection and satisfaction and keen to progress.  If this resonates with you and you have demonstrable track record of managing buildings works across a varied portfolio to ensure quality and safety, Ealing awaits.
You will:
• Provide on-site quality assurance to mitigate fire safety risk and keep our customers, residents and staff safe.
• Inspect construction works in accordance with statutory regulations including Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, Fire Safety Requirements, Health and Safety at Work Act and Control of Asbestos Regulations.
• Complete inspections to record any defects identified throughout construction and which become apparent after completion of works. Ensure these are communicated and escalated to the relevant person 
• Keep appropriate records of conditions and progress on site. Ensuring that records are comprehensive and well-structured to assist with the administration of any contract.
• Advise on the practical implications of implementing the designs and draw attention to any areas for improvement.
What you’ll need:
• Ideally, you’ll have worked in the housing/ new build / construction sector in a similar role as a Clerk of Works or a Quality Control Inspector.
• You’ll have knowledge of fire safety construction quality standards, regulations and best practice
• Detail Building Pathology knowledge and construction techniques
• You’ll have a proven track record of carrying out site quality inspections.
• You’ll ideally have a CSCS card or construction related certifications.
• The role will work with a range of residents, contractors and colleagues, so a positive approach to collaborative team working is essential. 
• You will be required to be a pragmatic thinker and able to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
It may be necessary at short notice, to support colleagues in an emergency situation and for this reason, we ask that your home is within reasonable travel distance of Ealing.
